Thanos Petkakis

CEO and Co-Founder, Navos AI

Athens, Greece

Thanos Petkakis is the CEO and co-founder of Navos AI, the operating-environment intelligence and strategic resilience platform for mid-market CEOs in Europe. He grew up in the company his family built — Philkeram Johnson, founded in Thessaloniki in 1961 and at its peak Greece's largest ceramic tile manufacturer, supplying the 2004 Athens Olympics and partnered with Norcros PLC in the United Kingdom — and watched it become insolvent in 2011 after three simultaneous shocks none of its financial statements had warned about. He built Navos to give other mid-market CEOs the structural-risk measurement his family did not have. Before Navos, Thanos was a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he worked on strategy and transformation assignments across European businesses. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BA in Mathematics from Davidson College. Earlier recognitions include Greece's "30 under 30 to Watch" by Kathimerini (2016) and the Best Paper Award at the 22nd Economia National Economics Competition (2016). Navos's products include the Navos Resilience Score — a probability-of-default model on a 0–100 scale, calibrated for southern European empirical reality — the weekly Navos Pulse operating-environment briefing, and the Navos Strategy review. Thanos is based in Athens.
